Hospitality Groups

Our primary way of fostering community is encouraging interaction with Christians from church on a regular basis. This can take place in a coffee shop early in the morning, Sunday lunch, dinner on a weekday, etc. At the same time, we want to add a little structure for those thinking they would be helped by more formality. This is why we have Hospitality Groups.

What is a Hospitality Group?

A group of WRBC members (or those pursuing membership) that meet on a regular basis for Christian encouragement and prayer. They can be as informal or formal as you would like. This can be as basic as a shared meal together with intentional questions or a meal followed by a more formal time of prayer and sharing. Another idea would be to make this evangelistic by inviting unbelievers interested in Christianity to your groups.

How frequent do the groups meet?

That's up to the host. We only ask that you avoid meeting at the same time of a church function (Midweek Gathering, Member's Meeting, retreats, and any other irregular function).

Who can host?

Any WRBC member.

If I want to host, how can I get people in my group?

Once we have a list of hosts, the church will be made aware of each host and location. Then people can reach out to you directly. If your group already has enough people, it's okay to let someone know that!

How long will the groups last?

Groups will be January-May and September-December. They will formally end in May and December. This makes the onroading and offroading easier. If a group wants to keep on meeting the following spring or fall, that's fine too. If they want to meet over the summer, that's also fine.
